The Global Mobility Eco Opportunity

The Global Mobility Eco Opportunity

From global warming to extreme drought and hurricanes, the global environmental crisis is a critical challenge for all business, but particularly for those operating globally.

There is still reason to believe that there is hope for the environment, although immediate action and leadership are essential for success, as well as cooperation and collaborative action.

Going green has several benefits for companies. These include tax credits and incentives, talent attraction,  improved efficiency, healthier workplaces, and cost savings.*

Businesses around the world are responding to a demand from consumers to go green. According to a big study, 73% of consumers want companies to address climate change. In addition, 77% of customers would tell others to buy from a purpose-driven company, and 66% would switch from a product they typically buy, to a product from a purpose-driven company.**

According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), companies that ignore their impact on the environment, “don’t just alienate customers and turn off investors, but ultimately, face existential challenges.”

In addition, UNEP observes that companies will have to conform to tightening environmental regulations. Many countries have net-zero targets for carbon emissions: some as early as 2030. ***

The Future of Global Mobility: Eco-friendlier Relocations

Unfortunately, the Global Mobility Industry is far from environmentally friendly. Moving trucks, cargo ships, air travel, car service, and purging and purchasing of household items are all major contributors to global pollution during an international move.

Environmentally friendly options are not yet readily available for airplanes, trucks, and cargo ships. However, by providing low emission vehicles in the employee’s new location, we can easily and significantly lower the Global Mobility Industry’s impact on the environment.

In fact, it is quite easy to make a considerable difference! Switching just 50 assignees from gasoline to hybrid rental cars on an annual basis can save 6,700 trees every year.

The EcoRide Program

Many of our clients and their employees have voiced their concerns about the environment and pollution. Therefore, ExpatRide has taken the initiative to reduce our services’ carbon footprint while driving demand for greener cars in our suppliers’ fleets Worldwide.

We do this by actively Motivating, Assisting and Pushing greener transportation options.

Our three purpose-driven initiatives include:

  1. Vetting of our Global Supplier Network
  2. Motivating, Assisting and Pushing greener choices,
  3. The “EcoRide Choice” program

Mandated by the client, EcoRide is designed to always choose the eco-friendlier option on behalf of international assignees worldwide.

The EcoRide Choice Program

Together with corporations and relocation companies, we work to establish a greener framework for car services. The choices are made across six continents, 175 countries, and all our services.

Eco-friendlier choices worldwide:

  • Airport Transfer all major airports
  • Car Rental worldwide
  • Car Leasing in 58 countries
  • Chauffeur Service worldwide
  • Armored Vehicles and security service

When possible, we always select eco-friendlier cars (within the agreed framework)

For rental cars and chauffeur service, if there are no eco-friendly options available at the start of service, we will switch to a greener vehicle as soon as it becomes available.

Synergies and Partnerships

The EcoRide program was created only recently, and sustainability is a new focus for us at ExpatRide. We are looking forward to learning more about greener practices while establishing partnerships, raising eco-awareness, and receiving support to strengthen our efforts.

We welcome you to contact us to explore future synergies!
